Norristown Line

I actually meant this post to go here, but I screwed up and put it in the Trains, Trams and Trolley blog even though I am not sure how I would classify it. These cars fly along taking power off a third rail and are small enough to be trams or trolleys. However, SEPTA has referred to them as "heavy rail" in past reports according to Wikipedia.

They are handsome cars and move very fast. Every car I saw was full of people, but there were some big events going on in Philadelphia, so that might have accounted for some of the heavy weekend patronage. Still, it seems to be a convenient and quick way to get around.

Leaving Norristown inbound on a sunny Sunday in September.
