Throwbach Thursday: Little Rock January 2000
They even have blizzards in Arkansas, though, not that often. One of those instances came in January 2000. I was traveling through the region and got stranded by TWA (remember them?) in St. Louis. I hopped in a cab, went cross town and just made a southbound Amtrak. I was deposited in Little Rock well after sunrise, where I stood on the platform watching Union Pacific freights crawl by amid the falling snow.
This is from a scanned in print I made that morning. It was well before my switch to digital. I was still using a Canon AE-1.
Coming the other way is what was once brand-new power on the U.P. At least in my experience.
