A New Face for Amtrak

I managed to catch one of the new Amtrak units in South Station this morning. All I had was the camera on my Blackberry, but it did the job. I like the look of these units. They have that European feel to them. (Okay, they are Siemens.) If they were red, you might think they belonged to DB or OBB.  As for Amtrak's paint job -- well, it reflects the scheme they have been using on their other Northeast Corridor equipment, which always struck me as utilitarian but not dazzling. Still, it looks pretty handsome on this beast. I can't wait to get a couple shots of this thing out on the line.
