EIghteen: Niland, California Sept. 14, 2015

Eighteen! We're so close. I am still not sure that I am going to get there but it is nice to be so close with three and half months left. Who knows what gift fate might drop on my lap? After all, if you told me two weeks ago I'd be in California on the shores of the Salton Sea I would have said "impossible." Yet that is exactly where I found myself last Monday standing in the 100-degree heat waiting for the headlight in the distance to come into view. 

The thing I really love about these shots is that CSX unit way out in the California desert and so far from home.
