SD70M-2 8889 starts a southbound freight out of Memphis on a cold December afternoon. Below it in the pond are a flock of Gadwalls, a handsome duck that I sometimes mistake for a female Mallard. I caught up with this frieght about an hour later in Mississippi. I almost didn't count it as another state, but hey, why not? It is getting close to the end of the year and I need to get my states in the books!
