Drive-Thru

The Providence & Worcester parallels the George Bennett Highway through Pawktucket, Rhode Island for a couple of miles. In 2010, there were still a couple of industrial spots along the road that needed switching. I am not sure what the status is now. These were pretty easy shots to get because the P&W usually showed up around 9 a.m. most days and there was no guess work involved. One of my favorite locations was where the railroad was actually between the sidewalk and the buildings.

I met a guy a few years ago, who worked on the building of the George Bennett. Apparently its cramped track arrangement came about because the railroad was there first. The road came later. I find it hard to tell.
