Remote Control Alco in Everett
I sit in my office in downtown Boston and just at the edge of my eyesight I can see freight cars being switched around the docks in Everett. I have long been curious about what goes on over there, so the other day, when I had a day off, I took a trip over. I parked at Mary O'Malley State Park in Chelsea, which offers a great view of the Everett piers, and discovered a stranger from afar. The internet of all things tells me it is a remote control Alco built in 1960 and formerly working at the James River Coal Sunny Knot Loading in Kentucky. Not bad for a side trip on a day off.
