Three: Milford, Massachusetts January 11, 2024

A Grafton and Upton switcher pushes freight down the line in Milford on a relatively mild January day in Massachusetts. In recent years the Grafton and Upton has refurbished its line and operations in the Milford area clearing out the yard and making the tracks passable again. I worked in Milford in the 1980s and the local yard was a wasteland. I did see Conrail locals rolling into the southern end, where the crews would break for lunch at a nearby eatery.
Milford has such rich railroad history, a city of mills and commerce, it is nice to see the railroads picking up again. Now, if you could just get a passenger train to Boston!
